The Real Estate Market remains Strong on the Sunshine Coast as we head into the Fall.  Deatched homes have seen a 20% increase in benchmark price over last year and houses are selling faster with an average of 54 days on the Market and fewer homes to choose from.  

 

As the Average Price for a Single Family home increases a lot of buyers have been forced into the Condo and Townhouse market.  The attached market has ventured into a Sellers market with 100% increase in sales with Days on Market down and inventory down.

Sunshine Coast Real Estate 2015 Year in Review.  Average Sales price is up.  Inventory is down 21.4%, Homes sold is up 33%, Dollar Volume is up.  This is a balanced market, headed towards a Sellers Market. Gibsons prices are up 13.7%, Roberts Creek Prices are up 11% and Sechelt prices are up 11.6%.  (one year change for 2015)

Gibsons & Sechelt Statistics

 

Sunshine Coast Real Estate is very active at the moment.

 

Days on the market have come down and many houses are selling within a week of hitting the market.  So if you are interested in purchasing be prepared to move quickly.  Sales to Active listings is up so this market is starting to lean towards a Sellers market.  Inventory is down and homes are selling for roughly 95.% of the list price.  Sales are significantly up from last year.  If you are thinking of Buying given the current state of the Market in December of 2015 you should be prepared for Seller's to be less open to lower offers and possibly competing against other Buyer's that have been waiting and who have missed out on other properties.  If this trend continues given simple Economics of supply and demand prices should be continue to climb and more buyers may be looking to get into the market as interest rates appear to be going up.

Three days left to donate to the 2015 REALTORS Care® Blanket Drive 

Re/Max Top Performers are busy Collecting Blankets and clothing for the people that really need them.

All donations remain in the community in which they were collected!



The 21st annual REALTORS Care® Blanket Drive wraps up on Monday, November 23.


The recent wet and cold weather has increased the need for blankets and warm clothing across the region. Some shelters are experiencing difficulty keeping up with demand. 

“One charity ran out of blankets and contacted us for help earlier this week,” Darcy McLeod, Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver president said. “One of our volunteers delivered a load of donations within a few hours to help them re-stock and meet the growing demand for warm clothing.”

Residents can drop off donations at any of the more than 100 participating real estate offices throughout the region.Click here for a list of participating offices.

Clothing items we’re looking for: 

• blankets, sleeping bags

• warm clothing - coats, jeans, pants, sweaters

• scarves, gloves, mitts, hats

• socks (new) 

• underwear (new) 

Each year, the REALTORS Care® Blanket Drive provides warm clothing and blankets to more than 19,000 Lower Mainland residents in need. Since the Blanket Drive began in 1995, the program has helped more than 275,000 people in our communities keep warm and dry during the winter months.
